This weekend a Tesla Model S was stolen from a Los Angeles dealership and was involved in a high-speed crash. According to local media, the thief lead police on a high-speed chase but, unfortunately he lost control of the electric vehicle, hit two cars and then plowing into a light pole.

This cause the Tesla Model S to split in two, with the front part bursting into flames. The car reportedly hit speed with three digits and the crash was so severe that one half of the car got stocked in a synagogue entrance.

Unfortunately, the people on the other cars involved in the crash were injured, while the local media is reporting that the driver died.

Now, Tesla officials is working with police and fire officials to investigate the crash and the U.S.-based company wants to exam the car as soon as possible.

“There aren’t so many S’s involved in major crashes, and certainly not quite like this one, so we absolutely want to have a look to understand what happened", said Simon Sprou, a company spokesman.
