Subaru has announced its plans of introducing the 2013 XV Crosstrek at the 2012 New York Auto Show next month.
The vehicle is essentially the North American version of the XV compact crossover unveiled in Frankfurt last year, which this time looks a bit more rugged due to black side- and wheel-arch cladding, rocker spoiler and roof rails which are in contrast with the vehicles orange painted body.
The Subaru XV Crosstrek also features a higher ride height (8.7 inches ground clearance), 17 inch wheels, a roof spoiler and uniquely designed bumpers.
Power comes from a 2.0-litre boxer unit developing 148 horses via a 5-speed manual or a Lineartronic CVT, with the automaker claiming that the Crosstrek will be the most fuel-efficient all-wheel drive crossover on the market due to its 25 mpg city / 33 mpg highway / 28 mpg combined economy figures.
The XV Crosstreck will be offered in two trim lines, Premium and Limited, with some of the standard features on the Premium model including a tilt/telescoping steering wheel with audio Bluetooth control switches, a multi function display with fuel economy information, power windows, door locks and side mirrors.
On the Limited version the list of standard features continues with leather trimmed upholstery,  automatic climate control, automatic headlamps, a display-type audio system that incorporates a rear-view camera and also features a 4.3-inch display screen.
