SsangYong has introduced the production version SUT 1 in Frankfurt today, a new pickup based on the Concept that was unveiled in Geneva back in February.
In terms of design the car remains close to the concept, although many of the features like the headlamps, taillights, grille and bumpers do not look as dynamic as before.
The SsangYong SUT 1 production version comes with Euro 5 compliant 2.0-litre Diesel engine under its bonnet capable of delivering 155 PS and 360 Nm of torque between 1,500 and 2,800 rpm. The car is available with RWD traction of part-time 4WD, with transmission choices that include a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic.
The SsangYong SUT 1 has a double wishbone suspension at the front and a 5 link rear suspension, and it terms of fuel economy the automaker says that the RWD manual version will return 7.1-litres per 100 Km (CO2 levels of 186 g/Km) while the automatic will cover 100 Km on 7.6-liters of fuel (CO2 emissions of 201 g/Km).
As for the 4WD consumption figures are 7.4-litres (195 g of CO2 per Km) for the manual and 8.0-liters/100 Km (2011 g/Km of CO2) for the automatic.
The SsangYong SUT 1 measures 4,990 mm in length, 1,910 mm in width, 1,790 mm in height and has a wheelbase of 3,060 mm. Its kerb weight is 1,873 – 1,995 Kg depending on the powertrain and some of its standard features include 16 inch alloys, manual air conditioning, leather upholstery, electric and heated front seats, a leather wrapped steering wheel and a sunroof.
