Seat has officially unveiled the 2016 Seat Ateca. The first Spanish SUV will be showcased during the 2016 Geneva Motor Show and will go on sale in the second half of the year.

The 2016 Seat Ateca features a traditional design and lots of the styling cues are borrowed from the Leon. The car rides on the same MQB platform and it represents a crucial model in the Seat lineup.

Under the hood of the Seat Ateca we will see a great line-up of engines. The entry-level is represented by a three-cylinder 1.0 liter unit rated at 110 horsepower. The second petrol choice is a 1.4 liter with 150 HP. On the diesel side Seat Ateca has the 1.6 TDI with 110 HP and the 2.0 TDI with 150 and 184 HP.

In standard, all the engines are matted to a six speed manual transmission but on the option list you can find the seven speed DSG. Front-wheel drive will be standard on the lesser models, but select engines with four cylinders will get SEAT’s 4Drive all-paw setup at an additional cost.
