Range Rover introduces the all new Range Rover Hybrid Long wheelbase during this year Beijing Auto China. The car uses the same engine as the short wheelbase, but addopts a larger wheelbase to offer mose space for the backseat passengers.
The stretched version has 186 mm more and reaches 5.2 meters long. This reflects in the interior space, where the seats an be reclined by 17 degrees.
The new Range Rover Hybrid powertrain uses the popular 3.0-litre SDV6 diesel engine along with a 35kW electric motor. The last one is integrated in the eight-speed ZF automatic transmission.
The system offers three different operating modes and is capable of delivering CO2 emissions of just 169g/km and impressive fuel economy 6.4 l/100 km (44.1mpg).

To keep the electric motor running, Land rover uses a lithium ion battery pack which adds just 120 kilograms to the standard weight. The Land rover Hybrid Long Wheelbase enjoys 340 hp at 4,000rpm and 700Nm torque between 1,500-3,000 rpm. The resources are similar to that found on the SDV8 version.
The car will be sold in China, but also on other markets that favor big cars with long wheelbase.
