Porsche is extending the engine range of the current Macan. The luxury crossover will benefit from the introduction of a new gasoline version.

The engine used will be a four cylinder unit, the first after 19 years of absence. Porsche last used a four cylinder unit in 1995, when it produced the 968 sports car. Back then, the car was using a four cylinder 3.0 liter engine, delivering 240 hp.

Now, the new Macan uses a 2.0 liter engine to ensure 237 hp and 350 Nm, delivered very early, as we are talking about a supercharged unit with direct injection. When equipped with the new four pot, the Macan can reach 100 km/h or 62 mph in just 6.9 seconds, while delivering an average consumption of 37.6 mpg UK or 7.5 liters/100 km.

The cars aesthetics will also be downsized, as the car will only get 18 inch alloy wheels in standard and squared tailpipes, not quad pipes as with its more powerful brothers, the Macan S and Macan Turbo.

Inside, the Macan will treat its passenger with standard equipment as automatic rear tailgate, multifunction steering with paddle shifters, dual-zone climate control, comfort seats with Alcantara centre.

On the options list, the clients can opt for 21 inch alloy wheels, PASM air suspension, panoramic roof, cruise control and ParkAssist.
