Porsche has unveiled photos and details with next year’s season 911 (997) race car.
Based on the previous generation 911 the 2012 Porsche 911 997 GT3 RSR is now 48 mm wider than before and its juice comes from a 4.0-litre 6-cylinder boxer unit fitted with an air-restrictor that is capable of unleashing 460 HP (338 kW).
The 2012 Porsche 911 997 GT3 RSR is also equipped with larger front wheels (+30 mm in diameter, measuring a total or 680 mm) and 6-speed sequential gearbox which sifts through hears via steering wheel mounted paddles.
Some of the exterior features that have also been revised in order to improved aerodynamics include and the nose and rear panels, the door sills and the wheel arch coverings, and among the many races in which this car will participate next year, Porsche says the new 011 GT3 RSR will also be raced in the Le Mans 254 Hours, the FIA World Endurance Championship, the Le
Mans Series, the American Le Mans Series and also the International GT
Open.
Pricing for the 2012 Porsche 911 997 GT3 RSR starts at 498,000 Euro plus tax.
