Even if Peugeot announced it will reduce its number of models from 45 to 26, the French manufacturer will not abandon its most iconic car of the past few years: the RCZ.

Built to rival the Audi TT, the current RCZ made a statement and managed to become also a financial succes. Inspired by these performances, Peugeot officials decided to develop a future generation for the RCZ.

Peugeot boss, Maxime Picat, himself confirmed this news saying that the sporty coupe is very important for the current line-up. The future generation is expected to arrive in early 2016, based on the same EMP2 platform as the 308 compact car.

This will help future RCZ model to lose some weight and to offer the posibility of delivering some eco power through a hybrid version.
