Opel has unveiled today the production version 2012 Zafira minivan, first seen as a concept during this year’s Geneva Motor Show.

According to the automaker this new model represents a quantum leap in terms of flexibility combined with premium qualities, featuring the Flex7 seating concept which has been further upgraded with three
individual seats in the middle row. These seats can be folded flat, can move independently and can also slide longitudinally by 210 mm.

Opel’s new minivan comes with an increased wheel base which measures 2,760 mm (+ 57 mm), and also wider front and rear tracks measuring 1,584 mm (+ 96 mm) and 1,588 (+ 78 mm) respectively.

Motorisation options for the 2012 Opel Zafira Minivan will include three diesels and two petrols, all of which will come with Start Stop technology as standard. The diesel range is based on the automaker’s 2.0-litre CDTI common-rail turbo unit with the three power stages offering either 110 HP (81 kW), 130 HP (96 kW) or 165 HP (121 kW) while the petrol range is based on the turbocharged 1.4-litre ECOTEC with the two power levels rated at 120 HP (88 kW) and 140 HP (103 kW). Transmission choices will include six-speed manuals and automatics.
