US pricing for the 2012 Nissan Versa has been announced. Nissan claims this second generation has the lowest M.S.R.P. in America, and apart from a 1.6-litre engine and a 5-speed manual transmission, the entry level model (the 1.6 S), which starts at 10,990 USD will also include standard features like air conditioning, a 6-way adjustable driver’s seat and an AM/FM/CD/Aux-in audio system.
The other models being offered are the 1.6 SV and 1.6 SV for which pricing starts at 12,760 USD and 14,560 USD respectively and in this case power is sent to the ground via a new generation Xtronic CVT transmission.
There is also the range topping 1.8 SL CVT version, and in this case the tag will read 15,560 USD.
The 1.6-litre CVT sedan is expected to return around 33 mpg in a combined cycle, and US dealership availability is scheduled to begin in early August.
