At the 14th edition Shanghai Motor Show, Nissan unveil the all-new Tiida, a compact hatchback for the Chinese market which will try to replicate the success of its previous generation that sold 85,000 units in 2010.
The 2012 Nissan Tiida hatchback will also be sold across the globe, wearing different badges depending on the market, and will continue to target young families through its ‘premium and agile styling’, ‘class leading comfort’ and the ‘PURE DRIVE revolutionary powertrain’.
The words which served as the basis for its exterior design were ‘Fluid and Brisk’ and as a result the car delivers a premium feeling with a streamlined body-style, balanced proportions and advanced design exterior parts that include the grille and lamps.
If compared to the current generation, the 2012 Nissan Tiida has a 100 mm longer wheelbase, which translates into best in class leg room for the rear passengers. Nissan says the words which describe the cabin are ‘Calm and Refined’ and some of the techniques that have been used in order to achieve this include a floating center cluster, wide and super-soft armrests as well as comfortable seats with low vibration.
Under its bonnet the 2012 Nissan Tiida features the automaker’s fuel-efficient HR16DE engine, which includes some of the latest low emission technologies like dual injectors which provide a greater combustion efficiency.
The 2012 Nissan Tiida will be produced at the Dongfeng Nissan Huadu Plant in Guangzhou, and will go on sale in China in May this year.
By 2014 sales for the new Tiida will expand to approximately 130 countries around the world.
