VolkerWessels and KWS Infra have teamed up to develop the road of the future. The new road was designed to be eco-friendly and is made out of recycled plastic.
It features a hollow cavity that allows piping and cabling to be run underneath the road surface. More than that, the roads will also be built using prefab materials which promises to ensure they are high quality and can be quickly assembled once they arrive at the construction area.
Another important fact is that the recycled plastic roads are resistant to corrosion and weathering and can resist from temperature ranging from -40 to 80 Celsius (-40 to 176 degrees Fahrenheit). In short, the roads will last three times more than the actual one.
