Pininfarina has dropped official photos and details with the Cambiano on us, as the luxurious electric sports saloon has finally been unveiled at the 82nd edition Geneva Motor Show.
Described as a combination of design, art and technology the Cambiano Concept is a vehicle with ‘respect for the environment’ due to its drivetrain composed from four 82 HP (60 kW) electric motors backed up by batteries which are linked to a small diesel engine that acts as a generator.
Thanks to this powering system the Cambiano, which weights 1,700 Kg, can sprint from 0 to 100 Km/h in 4.2 seconds, can reach a top speed of 275 Km/h and can travel for around 205 Km in all electric mode. In a mixed cycle the Cambiano has a total NEDC range of 800 Km.
The concept’s 500 kW lithium-ion battery pack is installed between the seats and the rear axle and can be recharged in 6 hours at a 6 kW’h grid or in 52 minutes when using the APU (Auxiliary Power Unit) incorporated into the vehicle’s drive system.
The Pininfarina Cambiano Concept is inspired by Lancia’s 1975 Florida II, at it features the type of layout that reminds of the Veloster, meaning it has on door on the driver’s side and two two doors on the other side. In this case we are talking about suicide doors.
