MINI has officially unveiled the 2017 MINI Countryman plug-in hybrid. Its real name is MINI Cooper S E Countryman ALL4 and borrows the same propulsion system seen in the BMW 225xe model. 

We are talking about a 1.5 liter three cylinder engine that can deliver 134 horsepower and about an 88 horsepower electric motor. The propulsion system offers a total of 224 horsepower and 385 Nm peak of torque. As a result, the MINI Cooper S E Countryman ALL4 can run from stand still to 100 km/h in just 6.5 seconds, while the fuel consumption is clocked at 2,1 liters per 100 kilometers. 

The 2017 MINI Cooper S E Countryman ALL4 comes with three different driving modes.

Here are the operating modes: 

AUTO eDRIVE – Purely electric driving up to 80 km/h, the combustion engine is additionally enabled at higher speeds, in particular when accelerating quickly or when the battery charge falls below seven per cent.

MAX eDRIVE – Purely electric driving up to 125 km/h, the combustion engine is additionally enabled at higher speeds or on kickdown.

SAVE BATTERY – The car is powered by the combustion engine, the battery charge state is kept above 90 per cent or raised to this level by the starter generator.

The new MINI Cooper S E Countryman ALL4 will be offered starting next year.
