MINI has unveiled their fastest ever model, the John Cooper Works GP special.
The car which remains a mystery at this point as far as how many horses it can develop, has managed to lap the famous Nurburgring track in Germany in just 8 minutes 23 seconds, which means it is approximately 19 seconds faster than the previous JCW GP model that used a 1.6-litre unit producing 210 HP/244 Nm.
We expect the 2013 Mini John Cooper Works GP to be fitted with a similarly sized engine, but with a raised output by 20 to 30 horsepower.
Some of the improvements featured by the new version include an adjustable sports suspension, new lightweight wheels wrapped in race tires which also house the more capable brakes and newly developed aerodynamic components.
The 2013 Mini John Cooper Works GP will be restricted to 2,000 exemplars worldwide and will go on sale later this year. Its pricing along with additional details are yet to be confirmed.
