As you already know, Mini will launch the third generation of its beloved hatchback on November 18. To keep us in action, the British officials have decided to give us new details about the next gen Mini.

Under the hood of the new Mini will be a 1.5 liter, three cylinder petrol engine that can deliver 134 horsepower and 162 lb-ft peek of torque (170 lb-ft with overboost function activated). The second choice will be a 2.0 liter unit with 189 bhp and 206 lb-ft peek of torque (221 lb-ft with overboost). According to Mini, after the launch, the customers will be able to buy the new car with more gasoline engines.

The diesel fans will get the 1.5 liter unit with 114 bhp and 199 lb-ft peek of torque. According to Mini officials, the new engine is 7 percent more economical than the 1.6 liter one. 

The third generation Mini will be more fun to drive and it’s promoting agility and comfort. In standard, the car will get an active hood which automatically rises in case of a pedestrian collision. The system is active at speeds between 12 mph and 34 mph. 

The third generation Mini will be officially unveiled in Oxford on November 18.
