In the first phase of the SLK 250 CDI sales will be offered only with the 7G-TRONIC PLUS, while the manual six grafts will debut in the second quarter of 2012. The standard does not lack the Start & Stop, while the roof MAGIC SKY CONTROL is provided as an optional sport suspension and electrically adjustable suspension, the latter part of the Dynamic Handling included also a more direct steering and brake torque vectoring. The presentation is scheduled during the Frankfurt Motor Show (15-25 September).
Daimler announces the first ever diesel engine available on the SLK Roadster. The car will be badged as the Mercedes SLK 250 CDI and will make use of the automaker’s 2,143 cc, 4-cylinder plant already available on other models like the S Class or the CLS.
Thanks to this diesel engine the Mercedes SLK 250 CDI will deliver 204 HP and 500 Nm of torque while in terms of consumption the automaker says this will be the most economical roadster in its segment considering the fact that it requires only 4.9-litres of fuel per 100 Km.
CO2 emissions are at 128 grammes per Km and as far as performance the Mercedes 250 CDI sprints from 0 to 100 Km in 6.7 seconds (from 80 to 120 km/h in 4.3 seconds) and can travel at speeds of up to 243 Km/h. 
The engine mentioned above will exclusively be mated with a 7G-TRONIC PLUS transmission while a 6-speed manual is also expected to be offered in the second quarter of 2012. The car will also be fitted with a Start Stop system as standard, while the MAGIC SKY CONTROL glass roof is optional. 
The Mercedes SLK 250 CDI price starts at 41,828 Euros and customers can place their orders starting from September 13th, 2011.
