Daimler has unveiled their hardcore version Mercedes C63 AMG Coupe Black Series, which according to them is the fastest C Class of all time. A number of leaked photos with this new model have circulated on the web for some time now, so the real news is finding out the number behind this hot looking coupe.
Powered by a modified, naturally aspirated 6.2-litre V8, the Mercedes C63 AMG Coupe Black Series delivers 517 HP (which means 63 additional horses when compared to the regular C63 AGM) and no less than 620 Nm of torque (457 lb-ft).
These higher output figures were enabled by a series of upgrades that include forged pistons, connecting rods and crankshaft, a massive oil cooler and a revised control unit, which in connection with the car’s 7-speed dual clutch Speedshift transmission, the electronically controlled limited slip differential and the widened front ad rear tracks (40 mm at the front and 70 mm at the back) are responsible for some pretty impressive performance/efficiency figures.
These are of 4.2 seconds from 0 to 62 mph (0 to 100 Km/h) and 12.2-litres of fuel required to cover 100 Km. CO2 emissions are 286 grammes per Km.
The Mercedes C63 AMG Coupe Black Series is also equipped with an adjustable coilover suspension and stiffer anti roll bars, plus a more capable braking system which includes 390 mm discs at the front / 360 mm at the back, and 6-piston-4-piston callipers.
On the outside the Mercedes C63 AMG Coupe Black Series is distinguished by the new front bumper which features massive air intakes, sportier looking wheel arches, a vented bonnet, and the more aggressive rear section with the new apron and the new diffuser that incorporates the trapezoidal shaped exhaust pipes.
A whole range of new features have also been added to the interior, in order to create a sportier environment, and if the Mercedes C63 AMG Coupe Black Series is pushing the right buttons for you, then you need to address the German automaker who will politely ask you to pay 115,430 Euro, which means around 166,000 USD.
Sales will commence in January 2012.
