Mercedes is introducing the new generation C-Class Coupe, ahead of its global unveiling, during IAA Frankfurt in September. The first pictures of the car were published today, together with a series of important information.

As you would expect, the new C-Class has grown in size and now has a  3.1 inch (80mm) longer wheelbase, 3.7 inches (95 mm) longer and 1.6 inches (40 mm) wider. This way inside you have more shoulder room, elbow room and headroom in all seats.

The unique interior of the new C-Class Coupe is emphasized by the special upholstery color combinations: saddle brown, porcelain and – in the Edition 1 – nut brown/black with turquoise topstitching.

On the outside, most of you will dare to think at a smaller copy of the S-Class Coupe. You wont be wrong, as the new C-Class Coupe uses almost the same headlights and taillights. To underscore the Coupe’s sporty disposition, the suspension is 0.6 inche (15mm) lower than that of the Sedan, making it a very sporty proposition when combined with the standard 18-inch wheels. Light-alloy components include the fenders, hood and trunk lid. At the same time, the body is now much stiffer and stronger thanks to the use of high-strength materials.

The technology is not missing, as Mercedes used what it had best to equipp the coupe. One of the gadgets that will mostly be appreciated in Europe is the the air conditioning system. As in the Sedan, it uses satellite navigation to detect tunnels. It therefore closes the air recirculation flap automatically when entering a tunnel and opens it again after exiting a tunnel.

The new C-Class is also equipped with the unique Frontbass system. This avant-garde acoustic system uses the space within the cross-member and side member in the body structure as a resonance chamber for the bass speakers to conjure up a listening experience almost on a par with a concert hall. A Burmester surround sound system is optionally available.

The multimedia system offers a larger display with a resolution of 960 x 540 pixels and a special bonded glass cover such as is familiar from consumer devices like the iPhone or iPad. The new C-Class will also include mbrace2 connected car technology, including the available option to have over twenty Mercedes-Benz Apps integrated into the COMAND system.

On the engine side, we have informations about the C300 Coupe comes equipped with 2.0 liter, four-cylinder gas engine delivering 241 hp and 273 lb-ft of torque.

Even though the public debut will take place in Frankfurt, the car will arrive at U.S. dealers in Spring of 2016.
