As the weather becomes more appropriate for various outdoor activities, Mercedes is rushing to present its new bike selection for 2011.
The new products range from a full-suspension mountain bike or a high-end carbon fibre racing bike all the way to fitness bikes and kids bikes. Besides using the latest components from well known manufacturers in the bike industry (such as SRAM, Fox Racing, DT Swiss and Topeak), the new range also introduces innovative new frames and attractive designs.
One of the stars of the new range is the new Mercedes mountain bike which uses Fox Racing F32 RL suspension fork, a DT Swiss suspension strut, a 30-speed x.9 gear shift system from SRAM, and hydraulic AVID Elixir 5 disc brakes measuring 185 mm in diameter. The 2011 Mercedes mountain bike, which weights a total of 12.8 Kg, also features DT Swiss X1900 wheels, and if you consider buying it, then its price tag is 3,299 Euro.
Another interesting addition to this year’s selection is the Limited racing bike which costs 4,999 Euro and which weights just 6.8 Kg thanks to its carbon fiber frame. This bike uses SRAM Red gearshift and brake components as well as lightweight DT Swiss RR 1450 racing wheels.
Other bikes in the 2011 selection include the new trekking bike which is equipped with a mudguard, a luggage carrier and a Busch & Muller lighting system complete with a Shimano hub dynamo. This trekking bike is available in frame height 51 cm and 54 cm and is priced at 1,399 Euro.
Moving on to the new fitness bike, in this case Mercedes offers a lockable Suntour XCR suspension fork and hydraulic disc brakes, an unique frame design and a fashionable white paint finish. The three frame heights are 48, 51 and 54 cm and pricing is 1,199 Euro.
