The German car maker Mercedes-Benz has operated a few modifications on the E-Class series. The most important change is the adoption of a nine speed automatic transmission. The first version who will get this new gear box will be the E350 BlueTec. The new 9G-Tronic will be able to do 6.6 seconds from 0 to 100 km/h, just like the old 7G-Tronic.
Even though there are no improvements in terms of performance, the new nine speed automatic transmission and the updated start/stop system will offer a combined cycle from 5.5 liter/100 km to 5.3 liters per 100 kilometers. The CO2 emissions are lower from 144 g/km to 138 grams per kilometer.
The entry-level E220 BlueEfficiency has ditched the six speed manual gearbox and has received the aforementioned 7G-Tronic. More than that, the E-Class lineup has gained another member. Called E200 NGD, the new version is able to run on natural gas and is powered by a 4 cylinder 2.0 liter turbo engine.
