Last year in February, the Germans from Hamann were introducing their ‘Hawk’ upgrade package for the gullwing version Mercedes SLS AMG. Now, with less than one day left before the 2012 Geneva Motor Show kicks off, the tuner is presenting pretty much the same range of enhancements for the Roadster version.
This time the German specialist has played with a different colour (red), and has limited the usage of carbon fiber at the back to only the rear wing, while other than that everything else is almost the same, meaning a wind tunnel shaped body kit, a carbon fiber bonnet, a stainless steel exhaust system, 21 inch light metal rims and also a host of interior modifications.
Just like the metal top version, the Hamann Hawk Roadster Mercedes SLS AMG uses a 6.3-litre V8 on which they fitted a sports air filter and which in combination with the high-performance exhaust, is able to produce a raised output of 636 HP (468 kW) and 680 Nm of peak torque at 4,850 rpm.
Hamman says that this tuned, open-top two-seater will go from 0 to 100 Km/h in 3.6 seconds in race mode, and that its top speed is now 320 Km/h.
Additional upgrades performed by Hamann on the SLS Roadtser include a specially developed coilover kit with height-adjustable dampers and four progressively wound springs and 21 inch wheels wrapped in tires size 245/30 ZR 21 at the front and 345/25 ZR 21 at the rear.
