Mercedes-Benz has officially unveiled the 2017 GLS. As you may have read this is the facelifted version of the old GL. On the outside, we see modified headlights, a new grille, bigger air intakes, new wheels and a revised 3D signature for the taillights. 

Inside the cabin, the 2017 Mercedes-Benz GLS features the new COMAND infotainment system. The Germans have decided to switch from the integrated display of the infotainment system to the much criticized free-standing tablet-like 8-inch screen. We also see an updated three-spoke steering wheel, new upholstery and, optional an air ionization system. 

On the safety side, the new 2017 Mercedes-Benz GLS features in standard the COLLISION PREVENTION ASSIST PLUS, Crosswind Assist, ATTENTION ASSIST, PRE-SAFE, Brake Assist BAS, cruise control, ESP and electronic AWD traction system with 4ETS. On the option list is the DISTRONIC PLUS with Steering Assist, Active Lane Keeping Assist, Speed Limit Assist, BAS PLUS with Cross- Traffic Assist, Active Blind Spot Assist and PRE-SAFE Brake with pedestrian detection.

Mercedes-Benz has also updated the engine line-up. The Mercedes-Benz GLS 350d 4Matic delivers 255 HP and 616 Nm, the GLS 400 4Matic offers 362 HP and 500 Nm while the GLS 500 4Matic has 449 HP and 699 Nm peak of torque. The range-topping version is the Mercedes-AMG GLS 63 that delivers 577 HP and 760 Nm peak of torque. 

All the engine are available with the 9G-Tronic transmission while the GLS 63 will be delivered only with the seven speed automatic.
