Mazda has released additional info and pictures with the European version of the Mazda2. The new generation Mazda2 will go on sale in early 2015 and it will be offered with four Euro6-compliant engines. We are talking about a petrol motor in three power versions and about a diesel one.
 
Three Petrol

On the petrol side, Mazda2 fans will get the 1.5 liter Skyactiv-G unit rated at 75, 90 and 115 horsepower. The last one comes with i-ELOOP regenerative braking system and is matted to a six-speed manual transmission. As a result, the Mazda2 can return 4.9 liters per 100 km (49 mpg) with CO2 emissions of 115 grams per kilometer. 
 
One Diesel
 
On the diesel side, fans will get the 1.5 liter Skyactiv-D unit which is rated at 105 horsepower and 220 Nm peak of torque. It has a fuel consumption of 3.4 liters per 100 km (69 mpg) and it is paired to a six-speed manual gearbox. As a result, the car can sprint from stand still to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 10.1 seconds, while the top speed is clocked at 178 km/h (100 mph).
