More news from Lotus who also unveiled the 2012 Elise S last night in Frankfurt. They say the 2012 Lotus Elise S is "ALL Torque and ALL Action" and to back-up their claim the company said the car is equipped with a 1.8-litre 4-cylinder DOCH engine featuring Variable Valve Timing which produces 220 PS (162 kW – 217 HP) at 6,800 rpm and 250 Nm of torque (184 lb-ft)at 4,600 tpm.
This new lightweight 2-seater mid engine sportscar is now also available with the SPS (Serial Precision Shift) option, a new gearbox which only suitable to the 1.6l Elise which uses a new lightweight robotised automated manual transmission technology that allows the driver to switch between manual and automatic driving modes through the steering wheel paddles.
In terms of styling the 2012 Lotus Elise S features new headlamps that incorporate LEDs, and various minor tweaks that could easily be unnoticed. At the interior everything is coloured either black or white.
Consumption and CO2 are not available right now as the car was not tested yet, nor are its performance figures.
The 2012 Lotus Elise S price was also not announced, but rest assured that we will published all the missing info once the automaker releases it.
