Land Rover has unveiled the new Discovery Vision Concept, ahead of its debut during New York Auto Show. The concept anticipates the future generation Discovery, set to go on sale at the end of this year.
 
Different from the car it will replace, the new Discovery Vision Concept feature a smore sporty design, with short overghangs and a new opening for the trunk. The double opening is abandoned in favor of a more conventional one, double by an extensive floor that becomes a bench for the passengers during picnincs.
 
The concept not oly anticipates the next generation Discovery, but also will transform over time into a range of all-new Discovery vehicles.
 
The interior access is made through suicide doors, meaning that the B-pillar is gone. The seating configuration is 2+3+2 with the rear seats offering individual reconfigure. The seven seats can offer a multitude of configurations, while the carry-away roller-style luggage is integrated into the vehicle doors. 
 
To ensure safe and clean off-roading, the cabin is finished in two innovative types of washable and water- and oil-repellent Foglizzo premium leather that can be cleaned easily.
 
The gadget list includes new generation multimedia system Human-Machine Interface, Smart Glass that can offer information, transparent hood technology, intelligent illumination and Laser Referencing wchich uses lasers to project markings, symbols and imagery onto ground surfaces.
 
The technological package is rounded by Laser Terrain Scanning which utilizes infrared lasers  inside the front fog-lamps to continuously scan the terrain being traversed and configure a map.
