Back in February last year, Kia was introducing a coupe concept called Ray at the Chicago Auto Show. Today, they have unveiled a new compact with the same name (inspired from the English world which means ‘a beam of radiant energy or light’), that will be sold exclusively on the automaker’s home market, Korea.
This Kia Ray compact aims to provide versatility and spaciousness in a boxy shaped body with a ‘modern’ and ‘distinctive’ appearance, with some of the elements including Kia’s signature grille, LED daytime running lights, a sliding passenger side rear door, vertically positioned rear bumper reflectors and LED combination taillamps.
Powertrain options for the Kia Ray compact remained undisclosed, but will get announced once this new A segment competitor is ready to hit the market.
