Jeep has unveiled a production-intenet concept version Grand Cherokee at this year’s Houston Auto Show, for which the naming will be decided via an online contest called "Name My Ride".
Participants will be able to submit their choices at Jeep.com/namemyride with the top three names entering a final round of voting, and with the winning name expected to be announced in May. The person who suggests the winning name will have a change to win a 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee.
This unique Grand Cherokee features stealthy exterior cues highlighted by the platinum-chrome front-end appearance and the black-gloss 20-inch aluminium wheels plus it is finished in the Brilliant Black exterior colour.
The car is based on the Laredo X package so its interior includes leather trimmed seats which are also heated at the front, a leather wrapped steering wheel and gear shifter, a nine-speaker 506 Watt audio system, iPod/MP3 connectivity, rear back-up camera, rear-park assist, Keyless Enter-N-Gp and Chrusler’s Uconnect hand-free communications system.
Mike Manley, President and CEO of Jeep Brand said that "We plan to garner feedback from consumers at the Houston Auto Show, and via our online Jeep ‘Name My Ride’ contest," "If the level of excitement is what we anticipate, this new Grand Cherokee will be in Jeep showrooms this spring."
