Hyundai has published teaser images with the third generation Santa Fe (ix45).
Codenamed DM in Korea, the automaker says their new Santa Fe adopts the ‘Storm Edge’ design concept, a new direction which will also characterize Hyundai’s future SUV designs.
This new design concept which is based on Hyundai’s Fluidic Sculpture philosophy ‘captures the strong and dynamic images created by nature during the formation of a storm’, with the overall result being a more aggressive looking Santa Fe that adopts the company’s new hexagonal grille and a two-tone voluminous bottom car body which also features wider front and rear bumpers.
The new Santa Fe also adopted dynamic side character lines which give a more aerodynamic feeling and also deliver a premium image, with the automaker stating that the SUV’s core concepts are this time ‘Refinement’, ‘Smartness’ and ‘Practicality’.
The 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe will premiere at the New York Auto Show in April.
