After a long series of teasers and photos showing the car wrapped in camouflage, the Japanese from Honda have finally unveiled the Euro version 2012 Civic hatchback.
The car will premiere at the 2011 Frankfurt Motorshow and at this point we still don’t have any details referring to what is under the bonnet. The company says that with the new C-segment 5-door hatch they wanted to keep the car’s sporty elements but add a more elegant and dynamic feel to it.
It is up to you to decide if they succeeded, but the new model is definitely looking less futuristic than the generation it replaces.
Nearly all of its components have been redesigned, and as you can imagine the automaker has preserved its class leading cabin and boot, and worked on improving handling and emissions.
Some sources report that the 2012 Honda Civic will be powered by a 150 HP 2.2-litre i-DTEC engine, but we’re still waiting for the official data to confirm this.
Production for the European version 2012 Honda Civic will take place at the automaker’s UK factory in Swindon, and sales are expected to start towards the beginning of next year.
