This year, in Las Vegas, the most powerful Ford Mustang will be borne. Its the 2013 Shelby GT500 Super Snake, a package crated by Shelby American for the current Ford Mustang GT500.

The limited edition 2013 Shelby GT500 Super Snake features new styling cues, color options and optional performance upgrades. The car has fiberglass hood, a Borla exhaust and 20-inch alloy wheels with high-performance tires. There’s also a sport-tuned suspension, Wilwood brakes and an upgraded cooling system.

The package provided by Shelby American has two power upgrades for the Mustang GT500. The 5.0 liter V8 can offer 671 horsepower and 855 Nm with the entry-level package. For those who want a little more juice under the hood Shelby American can equip the muscle-cars engine with a Whipple or Kenne Bell supercharger that enables the V8 to offer an impressive 862 horsepower.

John Luft, president of Shelby American, said in an official statement: “When Ford launched the 2013 Shelby GT500, we were bombarded with requests for Shelby American to offer a Super Snake package for the car. Our team worked closely with Ford Racing and other key partners to develop our new fire breathing snake. The result is the most powerful base model Super Snake ever at 662 horsepower, which is available at prices lower than previous models. By checking off a few boxes in the series of optional equipment, you can take home a street-legal 850 horsepower version that runs on pump gas.”

Production will be limited to 500 units and pricing starts at $28,995 for the entry-level package and $39,995.00 for the 850 hp version. Except the car, of course.
