The Blue Oval has unveiled a few photos and details with the updated 2013 Cobra Jet after its public unveiling at the Performance Racing Industry show in Orlando, Florida on December 2nd.
As you know the Cobra Jet represents Ford Racing’s Turnkey Race Car Program which in this latest version comes with two 5.0-liter Ti-VCT engine options : one which is naturally aspirated featuring a CJ injection system, CNC ported heads, high-lift cams and low-drag accessory drive and the other a 2.9-litre Whipple supercharged version with CNC port-matched manifold and heads, and a proprietary 10-rib supercharger drive system.
Other improvements on the 2013 Ford Mustang Cobra Jet include a revised chassis, lightweight body modifications and better weight distribution, a new roll cage resign that increases safety and rigidity and a new brake pedal ratio for more stopping power.
The 2013 Ford Mustang Cobra Jet has also received a new rear suspension geometry and according to the North American company the car will cost from 86,000 USD for the naturally aspirated version and 93,000 USD for the one with the supercharged engine.
Production for the 2013 Cobra Jet will be limited to 50 exemplars with additional options and pricing expected to be announced in January.
