As the 2012 Ford B-Max has premiered at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show, the Blue Oval decided to release new photos and a new video that further present the new European small MPV.
Measuring little over 4 meters in length, the new B-Max will compete against the Opel Meriva, with Ford stating that the Easy Access Door system features by the B-Max, which does not require the vehicle to have a B-pillar is much more practical than the one on the Meriva.
Once it will hit the European market the 5-seater Ford B-Max will come with a choice of 6 engines, out of which two are diesels (a 1.6-litre TDCi rated at 95 PS capable of returning 4.0-litres per 100 Km / 70.6 UK mpg with CO2 levels of 104 g/Km plus a 1.5-litre unit delivering 75 PS and able to achieve 4.1-litres per 100 Km / 68.9 mpg UK and with CO2 emissions of 109 g/Km).
The four petrol choices will be a 1.0-litre 3-cylinder Ecoboost unit rated at either 100 PS or 120 PS, a 1.4-litre Duratec with 90 PS on tap and a 1.6-litre Duratec that outputs 105 PS.
The 120 PS Ecoboost plant comes with Auto Start Stop and is able to return 4.9-litres per 100 Km (57.6 mpg UK). CO2 levels in this case are 114 g/Km.
