A second Abarth enhanced model which will premiere at the 2011 IAA in Frankfurt in September will be the  695 Competizione, a car based on the Abarth 500 Assetto Corse which will bring various race derived features on a model that is street legal.
The Abarth 695 Competizione comes in an exclusive Grigio Competizione Opaco livery and is powered by a 1.4-litre 16-valve Turbo T-Jet engine tuned to produce 180 HP via an electromechanical gearbox controlled via steering wheel mounted paddle shifters.
The transmission mentioned above can be operated in either Street mode which basically means automatic or in Track mode which means manual.
The car’s suspension has been stiffened in order to come with the extra power, and so are the brakes which come from Brembo and measure 305 mm in diameter and feature four piston callipers.
At the interior the Abarth 695 Competizione comes with two race seats covered in black leather and contrasting red Alcantara, anti roll bars at the back, carbon fiber across the dashboard and the 965 and Competitzione logos.
The car has also been equipped with a variable exhaust system (‘Record Monza’) responsible for a meaner engine note and a few extra horses.
