Teaser images with the Alfa Romeo Giulietta based 2012 Dodge Dart have just been released by the North American company.
Described as a "Groundbreaking Car with the Ultimate Blend of Power, Fuel Economy, Handling and Style" the Dodge Dart is a compact sedan which will premiere at the 2012 NAIAS in January that will later go into production at Chrysler’s Belvidere Assembly Plant in Belvidere, Illinois.
Built on a world-class architecture Dart’s body features high-strength steel (68 percent) in order to achieve rigidity and uses an independent four-wheel suspension and a responsive steering so it can put the fun back into the compact car segment.
The three four-cylinder gasoline engines that are announced for the 2013 Dodge Dart comes straight from the Giulietta and include a new Tigershark 16-valve 2.0-liter engine, a
16-valve 1.4-liter MultiAir Intercooled Turbo engine, and a new
Tigershark 16-valve 2.4-liter MultiAir four cylinder plant.
In terms of style the 2013 Dodge Dart embodies brand specific elements such as the split crosshair grille or the Charger style dual exhaust and LED tail lamps, while at the interior the new model promises "great levels of refinement [and] craftsmanship".
