Inspired by Wild Rubis concept, introduced last year, the new Citroen DS 6WR is the first SUV that comes to life with a DS logo. The car was unveiled ahead of its debut during Beijing Motor Show.

The car is a refined premium SUV, that is 4.5 meters long, 1.86 meters wide and 1.61 meters tall, with a 2.73-meter wheelbase.

Inspired by DS 5LS front end, the new DS6WR features LED headlights, 19 inch wheels, a new grille, larger wheel arches, mirrors with glossy finish, roof rails, lower bumpers and some ground clearance for off-road adventures.

The car doesn`t use a four wheel drive, opting instead for a Grip Control system, that offers traction in difficult condition. The power is ensured through the help of two supercharged engines of 1.6 liter, capable of delivering 160 and 200 hp. Both of them are connected to a six-speed automatic transmission.

The car will be produced in Citroen`s Shenzen factory, where it will benefit from French and Chinese joint-venture. The units produced here will reach only Chinese market, with Europe not receiveing the DS 6WR for the moment. Maybe in 2015, after an Asian complete debut, the car could finally arrive on the Old Continent, using same gasoline engines, but also some diesel HDi units.
