Chevrolet Volt managed to sell more than 65.000 units to US customers since it was launched, at the end of 2010.
The electric car, a very important model for GM future, is now ready to say goodbye, even if it still has the potential of attracting new clients like until now, when 64% of its clients were new to GM.
His place will be taken by a new generation, already announced by GM. The US manufacturer already unveiled a teaser photo that shows the trunk and its spoiler, together with the future Volt logo.
The car is scheduled to be introduced during this year Detroit Motor Show, following a market launch at the end of the year.
According to GM CEO dan Ackerson, the new Volt will offer a longer electric range, comprised between 50 to 60 miles. Chevrolet will also offer an entry-level Volt with a more limited electric range but with a starting price of 30.000 USD.
