Chevrolet has officially unveiled the all-new Volt. The second generation of the US-based electric vehicle has a new face and a more potent powertrain system.

Exterior

On the outside, the new Chevrolet Volt has a more angular look with sweptback headlights and distinctive grille pads. In addition, we see a more aerodynamic roofline, black window trim and a unique rear end. Last, but not least is the new set of 17-inch alloy wheels wrapped in Michelin Energy Saver tires.

Interior

Inside the cabin, the new Chevrolet Volt has five seats, a curvaceous dashboard with metallic trim and a MyLink infotainment system. In addition, we see a floating center control and blue ambient lighting.

New Voltec Powertrain

Under the hood, the 2016 Chevrolet Volt has received the all-new Voltec powertrain. It has a 1.5 liter combustion engine, a range extender and an 18.4 kWh battery pack. As a result, the car can travel up to 50 miles (80 kilometers) only on electricity and over 400 miles (670 kilometers) with the range extender on. The electric motor delivers 149 horsepower while the combustion engine can offer just 101 horsepower.
