Chevrolet has officially unveiled the new Niva Concept at the Moscow Motor Show. The new U.S.-based prototype is designed to preview the upcoming generation model and it features a more rugged exterior which comes with a winch, snorkel and auxiliary lights.

Furthermore, we see a lifted suspension, a great roof rack and BFGoodrich off-road tires. For now, Chevrolet didn’t revealed the interior of the car, but they have told that the Niva Concept has a familiar steering wheel, off-road gauges and plenty of metallic trim.

Under the hood of the 2014 Chevrolet Niva Concept is a 1.8 liter engine mated to a five speed gearbox. The engine resources are sent to the ground via an all-wheel drive system thanks to a locking differential.

"Every year, the demand for SUVs. For example, since 2009 in the Russian SUV sales have increased by almost 200%. It is worth noting that in many ways this trend shows a qualitative change in the level and way of life of motorists. Chevrolet, in turn, tries to keep track of such changes on the market and to keep up with the times. Currently Chevrolet model line includes a wide range of SUVs and crossovers. Today we are proud to present two vehicles that are the true embodiment of the American character and spirit of Chevrolet", – says Alexander Migal, Managing Director of Chevrolet Russia.
