The 2012 Chevrolet Colorado pickup truck had its global premiere today in Thailand, with this new generation model packing more technology and features, and scheduled to go on sale in more than 60 markets worldwide.
With a total of 26 combination of models, powertrains, cabins and ride heights, the 2012 Chevrolet Colorado range includes single-, extended- and crew-cab body styles with high and low-stance configurations, wide and narrow body options and with a choice between 2WD and 4WD drivetrains.
Powering options include two new Duramax turbo-diesel engines with 2.5 and 2.8-litre displacements rated at 150 HP (110 kW) and 350 Nm (258 lb-ft) of torque and at 180 HP (132 kW) and 470 Nm (346 lb-ft) of torque respectively.
The power figures mentioned above are for the 6-sppeed automatic transmission equipped 2.8-litre version, while the 5-speed manual variant will deliver 440 Nm (324 lb-ft) of torque.
GM says the 2012 Chevrolet Colorado will be available under three specification levels (LS, LT and LTZ) with some of the characteristics on each model including dual projector headlamps, a dual port grille and a three-dimensional grille mesh plus chromed door handles, tailgate handle, mirror caps as well as LED taillamps on the higher-level models.
The automaker said it will release further details on the 2012 Chevrolet Colorado at a later date.
