GM is launching a second special edition model which celebrates Chevrolet’s 45th anniversary. This time it is based on the 2012 Chevrolet Camaro and it includes a series of mechanical and aesthetic changes which should make the American muscle-car more appealing.
The mechanical changes include a new cylinder head design featuring and integrated exhaust manifold for the 3.6-litre direct injection V6 from under the bonnet (rated at 323 HP/241 kW) plus a new fuel pump, optimised-flow injectors, stronger and lighter weight connection rods as well as a new camshaft cap and throttle body design.
On the SS coupe models the North American automaker is offering the FE4 performance suspension pack while in the visual enhancements department the 2012 Chevrolet Camaro 45th Anniversary Edition features a pair of dark silver wheels measuring 20 inch, hood and deck stripes, special badges, RS-style tail-lamp lenses, a rear spoiler and HID headlamps as standard as well as a body-coloured roof molding and various dark silver accents.
At the interior the 2012 Chevrolet Camaro 45th Anniversary Edition features a white instrument panel door trim inserts, red whit and blue stitching across the seats, steering wheel, gear shifter, door armrests and console lid, plus the special logos on the steering wheel and sill plates.
Pricing for the 2012 Chevrolet Camaro 45th Anniversary Edition was not announced.
