Cadillac extends the current ATS range with the performance versions of the coupe and saloon models. Both were officially unveiled during first press day of Los Angeles Auto Show.
Engine
The medium-sized sporty model will go after important names like BMW M3 and M3, Audi RS5 and Mercedes C63 AMG. The tough competition will be confronted with a new generation V-Series engine, estimated 455 horsepower (339 kW) and 603 Nm of torque, the engine is the segment’s highest-output six-cylinder and enables 0-60 mph performance in 3.9 seconds and a top speed of more than 185 mph (299 km/h).
Transmission
Together with the engine comes a new paddle-shift eight-speed automatic transmission featuring launch control and Performance Algorithm Shift. To help cope with the power, Cadillac offers Brembo high-performance brake system, Third-generation Magnetic Ride Control, which delivers 40 percent faster damping response, structural stiffness increased by 25 percent and driver-selectable driving modes for touring, sport and track.
Interior
The ATS-V interior receives performance seats and ergonomics focused on the driver’s interfaces. There are 16-way-adjustable Recaro performance front seats, Mulan leather with suede microfiber inserts and seatbacks. Handcrafted cut-and-sew elements, with decorative stitching and authentic materials, including carbon fiber.
Three interior color combinations are offered: Jet Black, Jet Black with Saffron accents and Light Platinum with Jet Black accents.
