BMW has published the price list for the M760i xDrive in US. This one is the first 7 Series M Performance model and it was designed to go against the S-Class. According to BMW the new M760i xDrive has a starting price of $153,800 which is about $17,000 more expensive than the V8-powered Alpina B7.

The new BMW M760i xDrive uses the V12 engine, has an electronically-limited top speed at 250 km/h and can run from stand still to 100 km/h in 3,9 seconds, 0,3 seconds slower than the Alpina B7. But you can raise the top speed by adding the M Driver’s Package (305 km/h new top speed).

The 6.6 liter V12 engine fitted in the BMW M760i xDrive can offer 601 horsepower at 5.500 rpm and 601 Nm peak of torque starting at 1.500 rpm. But the Alpina B7 also offers 600 horsepower and 590 lb-ft from 3,000 rpm. As a result, we are wondering why buy the 7 Series? To be honest, it’s just the status that comes along with the BMW badge.
