BMW has unveiled today its newest addition to the M family. We are talking about the 2013 BMW M6 Gran Coupe, the performance version of the four-door coupe, already a hit in Europe.

As with its M6 Coupe brother, BMW applied several weight saving measures like for example the carbon fiber-reinforced plastic roof fitted on the Coupe, the aluminium made doors and bonnet or the thermoplastic side panels.

In terms of appearance the 2013 BMW M6 Gran Coupe looks the same as its coupe sibbling, except it has another pair of doors. The car is more aggressive than the regular 6-Series due to the discrete aero package that adds new bumpers, new side sills and a rear diffuser, as well as due to the quad tailpipe exhaust system and the 19 inch alloys (20 inch optional).

The new M6 series also features a revised grille and LED headlights while under the skin the cars feature a sport-tuned suspension, a high-performance braking system (M Carbon Ceramic brakes optionally available) and the M Servotronic power steering.

Power is provided by a twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8 engine that develops 560 HP and 680 Nm of torque. It is connected to a seven-speed Double Clutch Transmission which enables the car to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 4.2 seconds and hit an electronically-limited top speed of 250 km/h or 305 km/h with the optional M Driver’s Package.
