BMW has unveiled the new estate version of the latest generation 3 Series, a vehicle which will be known as the Touring on the European market and as the Sports Wagon across North America.
This new model is a bit bigger than the previous generation and with an extra 10 percent worth of cargo volume added to the luggage compartment (+35-litres).
The engine range will depend on the market and right now we only know that in Europe, the 2013 BMW 3 Series Touring will be offered with a choice between a 2.0-litre turbo rated at 241 HP on the 328i, a 2.0-litre turbo diesel producing 181 HP for the 320d and a 3.0-litre turbocharged inline-six diesel developing 255 horses on the 330d.
The first two engine options will be mated as standard with 6-speed manual transmissions while the 330d will be make use of an 8-speed automatic gearbox. All models come with Auto Start Stop technology as standard as well.
As far as engine range for the North American market, BMW has yet to make an official statement regarding this matter.
The 2013 BMW 3 Series Touring / Sports Wagon will go on sale in Europe later this year an in spring 2013 in the US.
