The latest Aplina enhanced model which will make visitors at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show dream with their eyes open is the 2012 Alpina B6 Turbo Convertible.
Based on the new BMW 6 Series Convertible, this tuned version extracts power from a optimised 4.4-litre twin-turbocharged V8 that is able to unleash 507 HP and 700 Nm (516.3 lb-ft) of torque between 3,000 and 4,750 rpm via an 8-speed automatic Switch Tronic gearbox.
When the rear wheels start spinning from a stand still ,the 2012 Alpina B6 Turbo Convertible is reportedly able to reach the 100 kmph speed in 4.8 seconds while the maximum speed it can achieve is 311 Km/h.
Consumption figures for the 2012 Alpina B6 Turbo Convertible indicate that the car requires 10.9-litres of fuel to cover 100 Km, (the equivalent of 21.6 mpg) which is not much considering the standard 6 Series Convertible returns 10.7-litres per 100 Km and its engine is with 100 horses less powerful.
At the exterior the 2012 Alpina B6 Turbo Convertible fallows the company’s tradition by featuring only a few discrete elements that include modified spoilers, multispoke design alloys, and a custom exhaust system.
