The Bavarian automaker’s motorsport division has launched the 2011 BMW Z4 GT3 and also released a number of photos and details referring to this new racer that can already be ordered by private teams.
The main changes when compared to the previous Z4 GT3 car that was introduced back in March 2010 are in terms of aerodynamics, plus the 4.4-litre V8 that lies under the bonnet has been further optimised through a revised management system.
Power is send to the wheels via the same 6-speed sequential transmission, but this time the 2011 BMW Z4 GT3 shifts through gears using paddles. Further details mention that the car uses a steel body and a safety cell made from steel tubes that are welded into the body in order to increase rigidness, while components like the wings, bonnet and fenders are made from carbon finer reinforced plastic.
The 2011 BMW Z4 GT3 price is 315,000 Euro (includes the value added tax) and the car is available through BMW Motorsport Distribution.
