Audi has officially unveiled the all-new 2016 Audi SQ7 TDI. The model is described as the most powerful diesel SUV in the world and comes with a unique exterior and with a mighty engine.

Under the hood of the 2016 Audi SQ7 TDI is the new V8 4.0 liter TDI engine that comes with two classic turbocharger and with an electric powered compressor (EPC). This is the first production car in the world with such a technology.

As a result, the new engine deliver 435 horsepower and 900 Nm peak of torque from 1.000 rpm. As a result, the car can run from stand still to 100 km/h in just 4.8 seconds, while the top speed was limited to 250 km/h.

The EPC was implemented to support the eight-cylinder turbodiesel engine when starting off and during low rpms to eliminate the dreaded turbo lag. The EPS has a maximum power of 7kW provided by a special 48-volt electrical subsystem. This one uses a lithium-ion battery located beneath the trunk.

Audi also redesigned the eight-speed tiptronic transmission for the new model and the SQ7 TDI promise faster and more efficient gear changes. The V8 TDI’s output will be channeled to a quattro permanent all-wheel drive system working together with a self-locking central differential.
