The range of premium small SUVs is broader and broader. Acura came with a Concept SUV-X, which will be a competitor for Audi Q3, BMW X1 and Mercedes-Benz GLA. The new model intended for China market, but probably be sold globally eventually.
The new Acura shall be technically very similar to the previously announced concept Honda Urban SUV and as a result shall use the same platform of small MPV Honda Jazz. No more technical details were published which means that we are far away from production model.
The SUV-X concept is the first model of Acura introduced out of North America, which means that Acura is now more focusing on global market and especially constantly growing China, where this model range should be also fully manufactured.
