Acura is ready to introduce a new concept during next year Detroit Motor Show. The premium car division of Honda, focused only on US market, will be showing a concept version of the next-generation MDX SUV.

The Japanese manufacturer already released a teaser image along a short statement: “Utilizing “Aero Sculpture” design language affecting both form and function, the 2014 MDX Prototype will feature alluring proportions with smooth, arching body lines matched to an efficient architecture”.

The production version will probably follow in a couple of months. Most specialist say that we will see the MDX in New York Auto Show, which means that the SUV will be available in the second half of 2013.

The MDX is expected to use a 3.5-liter V6 engine that develops 310 bhp and 272 lb-ft of torque. There could also be a hybrid variant which has the aforementioned V6 engine and three electric motors for a combined output of 370 hp.
